DSLR: Unsearched Histories

Lexington, Tennessee

Have you ever thought about the history of your home?

Has it always looked this way? Will it stay this way?

Inevitably, time will bring change. I have started to see this firsthand. I was born and raised in Lexington, Tennessee. Most reference it simply as an exit off the interstate, but to me it is home.

I created this work to capture my home as it stands now, but also to highlight its inescapable transformation. From buildings to bypasses, the world does not slow down – you either change with it or get left behind.

I say this to make it known that I am in no way shaming my town for conforming with the future. However, one cannot help but to wonder and worry of the changes that will undoubtedly effect Lexington in one way or another.

So, now I ask again, have you ever thought about the history of your home?
